My last post has been on 9th Aug. Now its time to update things…
Lets start with my work. I have started my second RS (Research Service/Study). Oh that reminds me, I have been asked to work Backup Systems (UPS) for sometime now (I was working in Power Supplies team earlier). Though it is not a complete change over of what I was working on previously, Backup systems is more of a mature market when compared to Power Supplies. But I guess regardless of how the market is going to be, I am going to enjoy myself working in this field as well. The way I see it, the more the exposure the better and the more I learn.
It has been two weeks into the study, and I have started calling companies, trying to get some insights of the market. My current boss also seems happy with the work I am doing right now. All I can say about my current work is so far so good
I went to Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Man’s Chest last week. Those who saw the first part (including myself) is gonna love this movie as well. Captain Jack Sparrow character doned by Johnny Depp, is just awesome. I love his character. The opening scenes are too good and the locations where the film has been shot are just marvelous. It is a must see for everyone. The ending though was a bit abrupt, but I guess, the director kind of lost in the end and didn’t know how to end it. The plot is good and the screenplay has been set at the right pace with well mixed comedy in between. Keira Knightley looks drop dead gorgeous. I wish they could have given her more role in this film. But still she creates the kind of impact you expected from the first movie. The fight sequence between Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Jack Davenport is just superb!… probably my favorite scene in this movie. The two pirates, who becomes mortal, from the first part is back in this movie. Plus the James Norrington, portrayed by Jack Davenport, is also back. Inspite of an abrupt ending I would have to say an awesome entertaining movie. Pirates of the Caribbean, Aye Mate !
If someone asks me to rate the film, I would rate it 8/10 (actually I would have given 9/10 if it not for the ending of the movie).
Also went to a tamil-dubbed movie “AARAN“. Will write the review about the movie later. But overall its a good movie to watch, not too much voilence, and the director has portrayed the importance of our Border security forces and the difficulties they face. My rating for this movie (5/10).
Then came the much awaited long weekend. I took the day off on 14th Aug. Celebrated India’s 60th Independence at home! Didn’t do anything much, had a relaxing weekend. It was suprising to me that after a while, I got to get bored staying at home not doing anything (Hmmm maybe I should have gone out for a while)…
One of the interesting things that happened during these past two weeks were, the marriage of my school friend brother’s marriage. Since my friend was a telgana (meaning he is from a telugu community), their marriages take place at the middle of the night! I went to the marriage around 8 p.m. since the muhurtham given in the invitation was 11.47 p.m. There were not too many people(obvious enough). I asked my friend that when will the marriage (the actual ceremony of tying the knot) take place. He said that it will occur only around 02.30 a.m. the next day early morning.
Only their relatives were there, and a couple of his brother’s friends and myself. The remaining of our school gang came a bit late. Dinner was served at 8.30 p.m. sharp. So completed the important part of the marriage. We sat there, joking, chatting and commenting on their marriage styles and other things. It was a nice get-together. One of our friends, Mageshwaran, came late as usual. He is the kind of guy who would tell you, when you call him to find out where he is, that he is just starting and will be there in 10 – 15 minutes. But it will be an and a half before you could actually see him at the appointed place. We shared such similar amazing stories of his untill he arrived (actually the topic got a bit more interesting after he came hehehehe).. but still an awesome guy to move around with. Very helpful and very friendly.
Then, we all decided that it was getting late and since the main pooja was over, we left the marriage hall around 12.00 a.m. after congratulating the bride and the groom. The next day we all went to the Reception and had another nice get-together. This time Magesh came at the appointed time (probably thats why it started raining that evening hehehe).
Another a good friend of mine is getting married next week. Although, I know her just a couple of months, I can confidently say she has become one of my very good friends. In fact our “Da Gang” is one that formed a tight friendship in the shortest span of time. YAY! to Da Gang.
I think the marriage fever is being spreading around quietly enough. I expect another two such announcements by the end of this year from our Da Gang
And to add to this, my best friend Victor, is getting married this November. It is going to a revolution of sorts, because he is getting married twice. Now, don’t get me wrong, he is a nice guy. He has fallen in love with a hindu gal and after years of struggle he has finally got the approval of both parents and is going to get married with a twist. He, first, will exchange rings and get married the chrisitian way the first day and will then tie the knot around the gal, the traditional hindu way, the second day. To me, I think this is the first kind of marriage that has ever taken place in chennai that I know of!… So kudos to him !
Ok change of topic, this weekend going to KANK! … OMG Just realised this film is based on marriage and the relationships between husbands and wives… Is this some kind of sign from Him ?!? I wonder… But then again this is like sending mixed signals… I wonder what is the message He is trying to convey here. Well whatever, He is trying to convey, that message got to wait due to present circumstances
Hmmm… well what else, oh yes one last thing… Our building swimming pool and Gym is opened!.. Yippeee! Now I can spend some time in the Gym. So hopefully, I will get some kind of excersies done.
